Death Valley Nat'l Park

I was really pleasantly surprised by DVNP! We flew into Las Vegas with the main focus of the trip being Sequoia/King's Canyon but we literally had to drive through Death Valley to get to our destination so we spent an entire day making our way through. Honestly I thought it was just going to be a desert but there's a HUGE variety of landscapes--salt flats, mountains, wildflowers, sand dunes, and so many different colors.

It's also home to both the lowest point (Badwater Basin, -282ft), AND the highest point (Mt. Whitney, 14,505ft) in the lower 48!
