Tuscany
an installment of what happens to my photos when i die?
September 2022
Florence was our home base for our time in Tuscany. While the public transit wasn't as great as in Rome, I still had an incredible time. I found it to be much more visually pleasing.
The view from the hotel room.
The view from a piazza on the outskirts of town. I feel like every city should demolish some parking lots and make a piazza.

We got to climb to the very peak of the dome through all these winding, steep staircases. It was pretty crazy.

One of my favorite stops on our trip and one of my favorite days ever was the day we spent in the Tuscan countryside. We started in a town called San Gimignano, which sits surrounded by walls on a hillside, and skyline dotted with tall, stone towers.
I took this picture from the main piazza after finishing my breakfast gelato.
The rest of the day we spent at a winery called Casa Sola. We learned about how Chianti wine and olive oil are made on site, and the region's strict standards as to what gets to use those labels. Paired of course with a wine and cheese tasting and pasta dinner. My husband tasted "grappa," described to us as "Italian moonshine."
A note from the future: We order bottles of wine and olive oil from this same vineyard every year on our anniversary!
The view from the winery. I had this printed on a huge canvas when we got home.
