Aurora (Again!)
an installment of what happens to my photos when i die?
October 10, 2024
My second time seeing the aurora was even better than the first! So many colors! So bright! One thing I was surprised by was the camera settings--It's really nothing like starscapes. All of these were taken at 200 ISO and around 2 to 5 seconds at f1.8. Anything more than 5 seconds actually overexposed the photo because there was so much light. I did eventually try some with a smaller aperture and longer shutter but I liked the detail in the peaks I got with a shorter shutter speed.
This was facing east! It extended so far across the sky!
