Green Point Dunes
an installment of what happens to my photos when i die?
May 2026
While I was here I made a point to go to places I haven't been before, and that started with Green Point Dunes! I've typically hit the state parks and I had heard of Arcadia, but I looked at the lakeshore on google maps and decided to visit Green Point. I'm really glad I did! Honestly I thought it was nicer than Arcadia and I found a petoskey stone on the beach.
I was feeling a little uninspired with my camera to be honest. I feel like my shots are pretty basic. The way I describe drone photography is that flying is the only thing you need to learn and everything looks really cool by default, where cameras require actual skills and techniques.
The speck in the middle is me!
Unexpected drone perk: Cool selfies
Since I launched from the shore, the 400ft elevation limit gets measured from there, so I couldn't fly very high above the dunes. Luckily you don't need to go terribly high to get some cool shots, plus I wasn't plagued by high wind warning.
